The Willow Creek Community Services District is seeking a qualified individual to become a Water Operator. This is a full time, Monday-Friday position. Possible part-time position available depending on situation.
The Water Operator will work in both the District’s Water and Recreation Departments, reporting directly to the General Manager. Job duties will include, but are not limited to, working at the water treatment plant, reading meters, working on leak repair projects, as well as assisting in park maintenance such as mowing lawns, raking leaves, bathroom cleaning and trash collection.
A Water Treatment T2 license and Distribution D2 license is desired but not required. The operator will be trained and expected to take license exams as soon as possible to become a T2/D2.
The Water Operator will be expected to be available for overtime work as necessary to repair water leaks and work on other water emergencies. As such, it is desired that the operator lives within 20 minutes of downtown Willow Creek.
Education & Drivers License: High School Diploma or GED. A California driver’s license is required. The District may ask for a copy of your driving record.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to work sitting, standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling and carry items (regularly up to 25 lbs., frequently up to 50 lbs., and infrequently up to 100 lbs.) Ability to climb stairs and ladders, kneel, stoop, bend, and squat. Must have use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls. Ability to drive a vehicle and have close and distance vision (glasses ok).

The District has 12 paid holidays. Upon hire, you will receive 1 sick day per month. After one year of employment, you will receive 1 week of vacation.
Pay & Start Date: The Water Operator will be hired at a starting pay of $15.00 per hour. After successful passing the State of California Water Treatment Operator T2 and Water Distribution Operator D2 exams, pay will be increased to $17.00 per hour. Pay will be re-assessed every two years. Pay is negotiable with water treatment and distribution experience and licenses. The water operator position is anticipated to start the first of April.
