The new water treatment facility was officially put into service as of June 9, 2007 after many months of planning. The WCCSD worked diligently with engineers to assist in the design of the facility to meet specifications from the California Department of Health Services. The WCCSD staff and Board of Directors are very proud to have secured a $2,000,000 grant from a voter passed Proposition 50 fund and a $495,000 interest free loan from the State Revolving Loan Fund for a duration of twenty years. To keep it simple, the water supplied by the WCCSD is very pure and is safer than ever to consume as potable drinking water. The District is now in compliance with Federal Surface Water Treatment Regulations and will be for many years to come.
